January 2004 - NEW
SINGLE 'TE QUISE TANTO' ALREADY HEATING UP THE CHARTS WHEN
STATIONS BEGAN AIRING IT BEFORE THE OFFICIAL ADD DATE
International
Latin pop sensation Paulina Rubio is gearing up her highly
anticipated follow up Spanish album PAU-LATINA which will
be released by Universal Music Latino in February 2004.
The album which include songs like 'Te Quise Tanto,' 'Perros,'
'Alma en Libertad,' and 'Algo Tienes' Paulina tapped renown
producers and composers to work with her such as Emilio
Estefan, Chris Rodriguez, Sergio George, Marco Antonio Solis,
Marcello Azevedo, Toy Hernandez (Control Machete), Coti
and Jorge Villamizar (Bacilos) amongst many others.
Paulina
has come into her craft full circle with PAU-LATINA. She
was very involved in the creative process and co-wrote 'My
Friend, Mi Amigo,' 'Dame Tu Amor' y 'Baila Que Baila.' Paulina
also hand picked the writers and composers on the other
tracks working very closely with them to make sure her essence
was captured in every song.
Paulina
is presently in Los Angeles preparing for her promotional
tour and editing the final touches of the music video for
her first single, 'Te Quise Tanto' which was directed by
Gustavo Garzón.
The
single was scheduled to go to radio on January 7th but the
record label was forced to service radio stations prematurely
on December 23 when they received word the single had been
leaked via the internet and a station in New York was already
playing it. The single has been heating up the airwaves
in the U.S., Latin America and Spain ever since.
Through
her many first hand experiences traveling abroad Paulina
has discovered what she likes to call the beauty of multi
ethnicity that is the world today. After returning from
her BORDER GIRL worldwide tour Paulina was inspired to get
right back to work on her new album. The album is a mixture
of the rhythms that have influenced her life, rich sounds
of Latin America, Reggaeton, Accordions, Spanish guitars,
Rancheras, Batucada, Mariachi, Dance, Hip Hop, Rock, Pop
and Gypsy rhythms.
One
of Paulina's favorite tracks 'Ojala' is a song that singer/songwriter
Marco Antonio Solis wrote after Paulina pursued him and
insisted that her new album had to include a song from one
of Mexico's greatest talents. She describes 'Ojala' as the
new generation of Hip Hop Rancheras which she began."
The
title of Paulina's album, PAU-LATINA, honors the nickname
that her legions of fans have given her as well as her Latin
roots. The combination of both words, Paulatina also describes
someone who knows how to relax and take it easy.
Paulina
comments "My music is a mirror of my self. I'm a strong,
passionate, positive woman. I know what I want and how to
work hard to make my dreams a reality. I have always been
a bit of a rebel and this record is very Paulina (very me).
I put my heart and soul into it and am so excited to share
my new music with all my amigos."
