SANZ'S NO ES LO MISMO IS NOMINATED FOR BEST LATIN POP ALBUM

LOS ANGELES - Multi-Grammy winner Alejandro Sanz has been nominated for a Grammy in the category Best Latin Pop Album (vocal or instrumental) for his multi-platinum hit recording No Es Lo Mismo. The nomination was announced in Los Angeles at today's press conference hosted by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

No Es Lo Mismo (It's Not the Same), Sanz's sixth studio recording and first recording of all new songs since 2000's multi-Grammy winning El Alma Al Aire, sold a million copies on the first week and debuted at # 1 in Spain, where it has sold over 600,000 copies., #1 in Argentina and Mexico, #2 on the Billboard Latin album charts in the U.S. and #3 in Chile.

No Es Lo Mismo marks Sanz's debut as a producer of his own work working together with Cuban musician/producer Lulo Perez. The album is a fusion of cultures, from Andalucia to Havana, from Mexico to Madrid. It's an artistic groundbreaking effort with strong flamenco flavors. Sanz also touches poetically on political issues such as Cuba ("Labana") and environmental issues ("Sandy a orilla do mundo" - "Sandy at the Shoreline of the World"). Through it all are Sanz's unique vocals, sophisticated production and gift for nuanced songwriting.
