Luis Fonsi: A Personal Perspective

In
a recent interview with Luis Fonsi, Latin-Artists.com was able to discover personal
details about his life off-stage.
Before
Luis Fonsi became a Spanish-pop icon, he lived a very ordinary life; he was born
in Puerto Rico and when he reached the age of ten his family moved to Orlando,
Florida. He describes his family as very stable and unified and has one sister
and one brother. And, although he states his life was ordinary, he always had
grand dreams that and his persistence and talent led him to achieve his desires.
How is it that
he accomplished to reach the top Latin Charts?
"I
just was just a very normal kid who was very focused and had a dream," he said.
With
Fonsi as an example, it is evident that hard work indeed does repay itself. Despite
the fact that Fonsi puts much time and dedication into his music production he
still has a very active personal life. He has a girlfriend-Mari Lopez, a famous
actress from Miami and enjoys water sports, bowling and skydiving. And, although
he takes work very seriously, he tries not to the same with life.
"Sometimes I just want to lay
around and watch T.V. and do normal things people do," Fonsi said.
Even
though his career has taken a lot of his personal time, he still has much passion
and drive, and appreciates the rewards his work has resulted in. For example,
he takes pleasure in traveling from country to country and told us that it is
"the best part of the job." Also, he has recently opened up a new restaurant in
Puerto Rico, where several artists have already performed; he describes it as
"very trendy and artist-related."
What
future plans does Fonsi have?
In
the future, Fonsi would like to become a producer, and has been working towards
this goal by co-producing many songs with prominent producers. His desire to be
a musician comes from the idea of "being able to make choices and work with different
talented musicians." With an even brighter future awaiting him, Fonsi continues
to put forth all his energies toward creating a higher standard of music while
still trying to live life as he desires.
